Data Architect – 12 Month Contract - Portsmouth
About Your Role:
As the Data Architect, your role will include;
• Identify new tools and techniques for data analysis, data manipulation and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools) and develop business intelligence reports that can be reused
• Explore existing and new data using a range of statistical tools and techniques, such as machine learning and predictive analytics
• Lead teams summarising and presenting data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users
• Design, develop and construct data products and services, and integrate them into systems and business processes.
• Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems catalogue, monitor and identify data assets that are essential to the organisation's operations or services
• Assign ownership of data, ensuring there is a clear RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) matrix in the organisation
• Incorporate governance of data into routine processes
• Lead initiatives for better use and management of data and encourage better data literacy within the organisation.
• Explore and visualise data to find patterns and transform them into organisational insight
• Make recommendations to address complex problems and to inform strategic and operational decision making
• Design, support and provide guidance for the upgrade, management, decommission and archive of data in compliance with data policy
• Understand system strategies that map out the future systems landscape and roadmap
About You:
As an experienced Data Architect, your experience and skills may include;
• Deep understanding of the UK Gov DDaT framework
• A good level of experience in supporting the delivery of medium sized projects in a couple if not all of the IM&T Data skill sets.
• Demonstrates leadership in operational management.
• Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continual operational improvement.
• Takes all requirements into account when making proposals.
• Shares own knowledge and experience and encourages learning and growth.
• Advises on available standards, methods, tools, applications and processes relevant to group specialism(s) and can make appropriate choices from alternatives.
• Understands and evaluates the organisational impact of new technologies and Data services.
• Creatively applies innovative thinking and design practices in identifying solutions that will deliver value for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
• Clearly demonstrates impactful communication skills (oral, written and presentation) in both formal and informal settings, articulating complex ideas to broad audiences.
