Rate: £220 per day CIS
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00
Start: April 2026
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and professional Site Manager to oversee a live commercial project in York up to the value of £2 million from groundworks to fit-out. This is a site-managed role, meaning you will not be on the tools. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard while maintaining excellent client and customer relationships.
As this is a live environment, you must be highly presentable, customer-focused, and confident managing both subcontractors and client-facing interactions.
Key Responsibilities
•Manage and coordinate all on-site activities and subcontractors
•Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times
•Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections
•Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment
•Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the project team to ensure smooth delivery
•Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays
•Ensure quality standards are met and snagging is managed effectively
•Maintain site documentation, including RAMS, permits, and daily reports
Requirements
•Valid SMSTS certification
•First Aid at Work qualification
•Proven experience managing commercial construction projects
•Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance
•Excellent communication and customer service skills
•Professional and presentable at all times
•Ability to lead, motivate, and manage site teams effectively
