Salary: Scale 5 Sp 12 to 15
Contract type: 35 Hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with one hour for lunch
Contract Term: Fixed Term to 20th July 2026, Term Time Only
Outstanding Learning Mentor required to work within our new internal nurture provision from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for outstanding Learning Mentors to work within our new nurture provision from January 2025. The Learning Mentor of the Nurture Provision is responsible for ensuring effective provision for the children in their care, with a focus on emotional development and support.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate the provision for children in the nurture provision with a focus on emotional development and support.
* Facilitate 'family style' lunch provision for nurture children.
* Run individual and group activities based on Thrive and other recognised social and emotional interventions.
* Attend weekly staff training sessions and INSET days.
Qualifications and skills
* Have an understanding of child development and how the learning processes can be affected by other factors.
* Possess a thorough knowledge of agencies that support vulnerable children.
* Ability to motivate pupils by establishing empathetic and supportive working relationships. Be a positive role model to children and champion inclusive practices.
* Ability to organise and plan independently. Be flexible and adaptable to try new approaches with children.
* Be confident in using various forms of ICT and use online platforms to track the progress of children's social and emotional development.
* Have or be willing to undertake full Thrive training, level 3 Child Protection training and other related training.
* Liaise confidently and professionally with parents and staff.
