Site Manager - Groundworks | Wakefield | £300 - £330 via CIS
Our client is a long-established construction contractor with roots dating back to 1970. The business delivers groundworks, structural builders' work and turnkey packages for modular and commercial projects across the Midlands, North and South East of England. Known for being responsive, solutions-driven and easy to work with, the company supports leading modular contractors with a reliable and professional service from start to finish.
Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day delivery of Groundwork projects, ensuring programmes run efficiently and safely.
* Manage site compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
* Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to keep operations running smoothly.
* Monitor material usage, minimise waste, and maintain stock levels.
* Carry out quality control inspections and implement company processes.
* Track production costs and approve payments for subcontractors and trades.
* Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and progress meetings.
* Work closely with engineers, suppliers, and external stakeholders to maintain programme targets.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Strong background managing groundwork and civil engineering schemes, including groundworks and drainage.
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid at Work (Temporary Works Coordinator is an advantage).
* Proven ability to lead site teams, delivering projects safely, on time, and to specification.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Salary & Package
£300 per day - £330 per day (dependent on experience).
