Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Cook to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and food quality, presentation and service are maintained.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
* Support the Chef to supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
* Support the chef to oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in presentation and taste
* Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and allergen control measures
* Ensure the service is efficient and professional
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
* Lead by example in demonstrating excellent standards and serving residents when necessary
* Develop new menu ideas in collaboration with the head chef
Experience
* Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant, kitchen or care home environment
* Supervising experience in a kitchen setting
* Strong background in food production, food safety, and kitchen organisation
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
* Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods
* Experience in serving standards and customer service
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to food service environments
