Educational Quality Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Educational Quality Manager to lead quality, safeguarding, and SEND provision across tutoring services. This role is responsible for ensuring that all learners receive safe, consistent, and high-quality educational support while maintaining compliance with statutory safeguarding and SEND frameworks.
The role oversees tutor quality standards, pupil attendance and progress monitoring, safeguarding systems, and the coordination of support for pupils with additional needs. Working closely with operational teams and external professionals, the Educational Quality Manager will drive continuous improvement and ensure strong outcomes for learners.
Key Responsibilities
Quality and Service Leadership
* Lead and maintain quality standards across tutoring provision.
* Set clear expectations for safeguarding, attendance, engagement, reporting, and tutor professionalism.
* Review quality and progress data to identify trends and drive improvement.
* Ensure provision meets Alternative Provision expectations and Local Authority commissioning standards.
SEND Leadership
* Lead the implementation of SEND policies and inclusive education practices.
* Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Oversee provision for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Support reintegration planning and positive learner destination outcomes.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
* Act as Designated or Senior Safeguarding Lead.
* Oversee safeguarding policies, procedures, and case management.
* Ensure safeguarding concerns are recorded and escalated appropriately in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
* Maintain oversight of risk assessments for tutoring environments and external tutoring sites.
Quality Assurance and Tutor Development
* Set and monitor standards for tutor professionalism, communication, and lesson preparation.
* Oversee tutor quality assurance processes including lesson review, feedback monitoring, and performance escalation.
* Support tutors through guidance, training, and professional development.
* Ensure consistent quality across tutors, subjects, and delivery locations.
Monitoring, Reporting and Impact
* Oversee pupil progress tracking and engagement monitoring.
* Coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and review learner outcomes.
* Produce quality and impact reports for leadership and commissioners.
* Ensure progress reports and educational documentation meet required standards.
Partnership Working
* Work collaboratively with external professionals including SENCOs, Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, therapists, and Local Authority teams.
* Liaise with safeguarding partners where required to ensure coordinated support for pupils.
Person Specification
Essential
* Senior experience in education, SEND, alternative provision, or a related sector.
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and safeguarding frameworks.
* Experience holding safeguarding responsibility.
* Experience implementing quality assurance systems in education.
* Experience managing or supervising staff.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Experience working with external education and support services.
Desirable
* Experience writing EHCP reports.
* Training or experience in areas such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, or related SEND needs.
