Sewell Wallis is working with an exceptional Doncaster-based engineering business that is currently looking for an HR Manager to join their team.
As a standalone Human Resources Manager, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work with the Senior Leadership Team and Department Managers. Ideally, we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who is keen to own the HR function on a 4-day per week basis, which will include 1 day working from home.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on delivering the HR agenda, continuously looking at improvement HR initiatives and changes for the business.
* Manage recruitment, including contracts of employment, job descriptions, onboarding and induction for new recruits.
* Support managers on all areas of employee relations and performance management.
* Full management and administration of the HR systems, payroll and benefits; support salary reviews and pay changes.
* Ensure compliance with HR data and GDPR requirements.
* Manage employment contracts.
* Support and facilitate training and long-term learning and development initiatives.
* Implement changes in legal requirements into HR policies and procedures, liaise with external HR support providers, and progressively improve HR policies towards best practice.
* Develop HR reporting and analytics to inform decision making, conduct staff surveys.
* Support on ad-hoc HR related projects as required.
Qualifications
* At least 3 years' working within an HR function.
* Strong understanding of employment law and recent changes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong IT skills, including HR systems and Microsoft Suite.
* Resilient, agile and confident in dealing with all levels of stakeholder.
* Experience dealing with performance management issues.
* Proven experience operating in a generalist HR role for an SME, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing company.
* Graduate CIPD, MCIPD qualified or working towards.
* A proactive approach and a team player, self-starter.
* Adaptable attitude and ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
