Oracle APEX Developer / Consultant (Senior / Principal Level)

Overview
We are working in partnership with a leading consultancy to secure a high-calibre Oracle APEX Developer / Consultant. This role will see you embedded within a major programme delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing digital solutions into central government end clients.
This is a senior, client-facing position requiring both deep technical expertise and strong consulting capability. You will play a key role in shaping solution design, advising stakeholders, and delivering robust APEX-based applications within highly secure environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade applications using Oracle APEX
* Engage directly with consultancy stakeholders and end clients to gather requirements and translate into scalable technical solutions
* Provide expert consultancy on Oracle ecosystem capabilities, architecture, and best practice
* Deliver secure, performant solutions aligned to government standards (including GDS where applicable)
* Work across the full lifecycle – from discovery and design through to build, deployment, and optimisation
* Integrate APEX applications with wider Oracle technologies (Oracle DB, REST services, APIs, etc.)
* Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with security, scalability, and compliance requirements
* Support knowledge transfer and upskilling within consultancy and client teams where required
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience delivering complex solutions using Oracle APEX in enterprise environments
* Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
* Experience working within consultancies or similar delivery environments
* Demonstrable experience delivering into public sector / regulated environments
* Strong consulting skillset – stakeholder engagement, requirement shaping, and solution ownership
* Experience building secure applications within highly regulated environments
* Familiarity with RESTful services, integrations, and modern application architectures
* Understanding of government digital standards (e.g. GDS) is highly desirable
