As a Principal Engineer / Tech Lead, you'll work with cutting‑edge technologies, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of scalable, cloud‑ready applications.
What You will do in the Principal / Teal Lead role
1. Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend services using Java, Spring, Hibernate, and related technologies.
2. Define database structures, write efficient SQL queries, and ensure best‑practice data management.
3. Build complex, high‑performing frontend applications using React and modern UI patterns.
4. Integrate frontend and backend components through RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless interaction and performance.
5. Conduct code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality, performance, and security.
6. Use GitHub for version control and contribute to CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, testing, and deployments.
7. Work with cloud and container technologies; AWS experience is a strong advantage.
8. Leverage emerging AI technologies.
9. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including developers, product managers, and domain experts, to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
10. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
What we require to progress candidates for the Principal / Tech Lead opportunity
11. 7+ years of professional experience with Java and React, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
12. Strong expertise in full‑stack Web development, including object‑oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.
13. Deep understanding of scalable system architecture and modern development best practices.
14. Ability to solve complex problems with creativity, ownership, and critical thinking.
15. Strong collaboration and communication skills with a proactive, positive approach.
16. Ability to act as a technical leader in a fast‑moving environment, (prior start-up / scale‑up experience is highly desired)
17. Ability to learn quickly and understand complex business requirements with minimal guidance.
18. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
19. Have practical experience or personal passions to engage further with AI experience of Anthropic / OpenAI is a strong plus
