Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Nursery as a cook. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality meals to our children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, along with a commitment to maintaining food safety standards.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
* Meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
* Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
* Uphold food safety standards by following proper hygiene practices throughout the cooking process.
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
* Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen.
* Previous restaurant experience is an advantage, particularly in fast-paced settings.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation.
