The Vacancy
Due to ongoing success here at Wates, we have a new opportunity for a Site Manager to join our planned maintenance team on a fixed-term contract until the end of the year.
As the Site Manager, you will work on a planned works contract involving kitchens, bathrooms, roofing replacements, and electrical works.
This role is closely working with one of our social housing partners in the East Midlands area. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced site manager within planned works, with experience working with similar clients.
The primary focus of this role is to ensure that a project is built safely, economically, within the agreed timescales, and to quality standards.
Key Accountabilities include:
1. Input into and program the works/short-term scheduling of tasks.
2. Manage operatives, sub-contractors, and suppliers to maintain quality control and health and safety standards.
3. Attend pre- and post-inspection works, advise on appropriate actions, and assist with design solutions, ensuring successful delivery and handover of schemes.
4. Prepare weekly site progress reports for each scheme, file electronically, and submit to the Project Manager.
5. Ensure that upon completion, full job packs are sent to the Project Manager along with completion details to facilitate swift invoicing, eliminate work-in-progress, and certify cash flow.
We seek an experienced Site Manager with a successful track record managing projects within the social housing sector, ideally with planned works experience.
Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the offer stage. Applicants with criminal convictions will be assessed individually, and we assure you that we do not discriminate based on criminal record or disclosed offenses. Additional pre-employment checks may also be required.
