Position: LIU Administrative Officer
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full time (37 hours) ,Monday to Friday on a flexible pattern between 8am and 6pm [such as 9am to 5pm within office core hours]. Will be office based.
Duration: up to 29th March 2026 (possibility of extension)

Job Duties:
Case progression as directed by EO1 manager, records management, updating and saving documents to Coroner’s CLEAR and CM10 systems. Develop and maintain BF list to review and process outstanding matters and directions on a daily basis.
Liaise with legacy legal and investigating officers to prepare statement bundles/exhibit lists and ensure enough copies of everything for the Coroner, counsel, solicitors, witnesses. Court Clerk – Duties include opening and closing the Court, swearing in witnesses,reading statements, noting relevant points accurately, also dealing with any technology required including FTR, Sightlink, WebEx.
Need to travel to court locations outside Belfast to cover court clerk duties.
Deal with telephone and written queries on a daily basis & occasionally counter queries from professional, police, military or civilian witnesses, service providers and bereaved families.
Carryout open-source media research using internet and attending libraries and PRONI for additional research.
Process invoices for legacy counsel fees, expert reports, witness expenses, stationery.

Essential Criteria:
1. 5 GCSE’s A*-C including Maths and English (must be able to show evidence)
Desired Experience:
• Good organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Have good knowledge of using software packages e.g., Microsoft office
