This full-time, term-time only role offers a competitive daily rate of £90–£95 (dependent on experience) and is perfect for someone with proven experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role
You’ll be an integral part of a supportive team, working with students aged 11–16, all with EHCPs relating to SEMH. These learners need more than education—they need stability, encouragement and belief in their potential. Working alongside teachers, therapists, and external professionals, you’ll deliver personalised support that empowers each child to progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support in and outside of the classroom
• Build pupils’ confidence, resilience and self-esteem through structure and consistency
• Use effective behaviour regulation and de-escalation strategies
• Support academic and personal development in line with tailored education plans
• Contribute to a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment
What We’re Looking For
We want to hear from experienced Teaching Assistants with a strong background in SEMH or alternative provision. You should be:
• Confident in supporting young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD or behavioural challenges
• Resilient, patient, and able to form trusting, positive relationships
• Knowledgeable in safeguarding and child protection
• A clear communicator with a calm and consistent approach
