Description of Role
Spencer Group are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Business Developer to join our growing team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to kickstart a career in business development within the construction and civil engineering industry.
Responsibilities
· Assist in identifying new business opportunities, clients, and markets.
· Support the preparation of bids, tenders and proposal documents.
· Conduct market and competitor research to inform strategic decisions.
· Maintain and update our in-house system with relevant client and project information.
· Support client relationship management and internal stakeholder engagement.
· Help coordinate meetings, presentations, and follow-ups with potential clients.
· Ad hoc duties as required.
Person Specification
· A genuine interest in business development and the construction/civil engineering sector.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience of managing multiple, complex and time sensitive tasks/activities.
· Ability to prioritise a varied workload.
· Strong numeracy and IT skills.
· Efficient, well organised and self-motivated.
· Excellent written skills with a eye for detail.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum of Maths and English GCSE's Grade B or above.
· A-Level, BTEC or relevant vocational qualification is desirable.
· A relevant degree, or equivalent, would be preferred but not essential.
