About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Projects & Facilities, this role will ensure efficient & effective automation systems management, leading to reliability and national improvements in AAH sites' automated systems & equipment. As a member of the Group Engineering team, the Automation Developer will contribute to and lead national maintenance and improvement initiatives across the AAH branch network, supporting the Business Engineering Strategy.
Accountabilities
1. Maintenance of Automated systems
2. Facilitate the design of an effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for automated systems and equipment
3. Conduct regular reviews of the PPM schedules with site teams
4. Assist in designing and adopting fit-for-purpose maintenance schedules and resource plans
5. Ensure compliance with schedules through regular site audits
6. Escalate non-compliances to the Head of Engineering, Projects & Facilities
7. Ensure automation runs in conformance with best practice guidelines
8. Manage a central engineering spares store for critical spares acquired through automation upgrades
9. Advise on site engineering stores stock to ensure critical spares are available across all sites
10. Prioritize tasks proactively

About You
* Time-served engineering apprenticeship
* HND qualification in an engineering discipline
* Experience implementing modern maintenance techniques (e.g., TPM, RCM)
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer with supervisory roles in warehousing or FMCG
* Experience in automated systems maintenance and repair
* IOSH certification
* Experience managing CAPEX projects in operational environments
* Proven experience in dynamic, regulated, multi-site environments such as distribution or manufacturing
