Senior Site Manager Location: Luton (projects within 30 miles / M25 corridor)Salary: £60,000 + £5,000 car allowanceHours: 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to FridayJob Type: Full-time, permanentAbout the Company A long-established, reputable and well-respected main contractor based in Bedfordshire, delivering high-quality construction projects across commercial, education, industrial and leisure sectors. The business has a strong local presence, a successful track record, and a reputation for excellence. Continued growth and a strong project pipeline have created the need for an additional Senior Site Manager.Projects are typically located within a 30-mile radius of Luton, covering the wider M25 corridor including Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.The Role The Senior Site Manager will oversee day-to-day site operations on projects up to £15m, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
This includes managing trades and subcontractors, maintaining programme, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required specification.The role requires strong programming capability, excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead site teams while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities Oversee daily site operations across live schemesManage trades, subcontractors and site staffDeliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspectionsEnsure safe systems of work and adherence to health and safety protocolsMaintain productivity to ensure projects are completed on timeManage activity on site in line with contract and cost constraintsMinimise environmental and community impactCoordinate interfaces between clients, consultants and internal teamsMonitor progress against programme and adjust sequencing where requiredMaintain accurate site records, reporting and documentationSupport commercial teams with variations, valuations and contract administrationEnsure projects are delivered to specification and client quality standardsPerson Specification Experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager for a main contractorBackground delivering refurbishment and new build schemes up to £15mStrong understanding of JCT and NEC contractsIn-depth knowledge of health and safety protocolsFamiliar with industry ISO standardsExcellent communication and leadership skillsStrong programming and organisational capabilityAbility to manage multiple trades and complex site logisticsComfortable working with a variety of clients and stakeholdersStrong prioritisation and coordination skillsQualifications CSCS card (appropriate grade)SMSTSFirst AidHNC in Construction Management (or equivalent) or qualified by experienceAdditional health and safety or contract-related training advantageousBenefits £60,000 salary + £5,000 car allowance33 days holiday including bank holidaysContributory pensionNon-contributory life coverOn-site parking at head officeProvision of all PPEContinued professional development through the Group Life Learning ProgrammeSupportive, family-run culture with strong work-life balanceRegular social eventsAll projects within a 30-mile radius with no long travelTPBN1_UKTJ
