Sales Executive - Thornbury Golf Centre - Bristol Permanent - Full-time Shift and schedule : 7 day rota Responsible to – Sales Manager Thornbury Golf Club is a premier destination offering an exceptional golfing experience with two 18-hole courses, a state-of-the-art driving range, a professional shop, a café bar & kitchen, and versatile function spaces. We pride ourselves on being a top choice for golf enthusiasts and event hosts alike, providing a welcoming atmosphere for both a relaxing round of golf and memorable events. We're looking for passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to creating an outstanding experience for our guests. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving revenue growth at Thornbury Golf Club. Your responsibilities will include handling enquiries, managing event planning, selling memberships, and building strong customer relationships. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our marketing efforts through social media management, ensuring that our offerings are effectively communicated to both current and potential clients. With a focus on maximising revenue opportunities, you will ensure that each client’s experience is seamless and tailored to their needs, from initial contact through to post-event follow-up. Being part of the sales team, you will be responsible for selling Functions (including celebrations, wedding receptions, meetings, party nights & lunches), Group Golf events, and Golf memberships. Key Benefits include complimentary golf on both golf courses, use of the driving range, free meals on duty and a rewarding, uncapped commission scheme across multiple sales streams. Some evening and weekend work is required, however a rota will be put in place and overseen by the Sales Manager to ensure that the cover is shared amongst the team and is suitable for business requirements. Key Responsibilities Enquiry Handling & Acquiring Sales: Be the first point of contact for potential clients, answering phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with a professional, friendly, and helpful approach. Respond to enquiries in a timely manner, providing detailed information about our services and event offerings. Maximising Revenue Opportunities: Identify client needs and upsell effectively. Maintain detailed records of client requirements within the CRM system for accurate follow-up and personalised service. Event Planning : Plan and execute a range of events from start to finish, coordinating logistics, liaising with vendors, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout. Selling Golf Memberships : Promote and sell memberships, guiding customers through the benefits and sign-up process. Customer Relationship Management : Build strong client relationships through excellent service, follow-ups, and a tailored approach. Team Collaboration : Work closely with the Sales Manager, Kitchen team, and Food & Beverage Manager to ensure seamless event delivery. Social Media Management : Manage and grow Thornbury Golf Club’s social media presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Create engaging content to promote events, memberships, and club updates. Monitor insights and trends to enhance online reach and engagement. What we’re Looking for in you… Experience in Sales & Event Planning: At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality, leisure, or the golf industry. Excellent Communication Skills: Confident and friendly communicator, comfortable handling client enquiries and delivering engaging presentations. Sales Savvy: A natural ability to sell and upsell, with a strong focus on customer needs and satisfaction. Organised & Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously, with a high level of attention to detail. Knowledge of Golf: Not essential, but a basic understanding of the sport is beneficial. More importantly, we value a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
