About us
We are Churchill Retirement Living, the fastest growing company in the UK retirement house building sector, and we have exciting opportunities available to join our expanding Construction team.
We’re a family-owned business and going places. We’re proud of what we do and the people we work with. We have ambitious growth plans for the future, now employing over 700 people and growing continually.
We pride ourselves on building quality, purpose-built one and two-bedroom apartments in desirable locations across the UK for those seeking an independent lifestyle in later life. Our developments are designed to eliminate the hassles and fears that can be experienced by older people, providing security, peace of mind, and independence.
We’ve won numerous awards; most recently, we were recognized by The Sunday Times as the 2nd Best Company to Work for in the UK in 2019 and were crowned the overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ by the WhatHouse? Awards in 2016, the first retirement living specialist to do so.
About the role
We’re seeking Site Managers and Senior Site Managers for our newly established Northern Office to oversee upcoming developments across the region.
Using specified drawings and instructions, you’ll manage the entire construction cycle to ensure all deadlines are met and the development is built to Company and NHBC standards.
Based on site and reporting to the Construction Director/Regional Managing Director, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the building site, including health and safety, trades and material coordination, site presentation, and cost control.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the continued success of Churchill Retirement Living’s desirable developments. The Site Manager role involves infrequent call-outs.
Hours are from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, with potential for additional unpaid hours and occasional weekend work. Call-outs are infrequent.
About you
Successful applicants will hold a black or white CSCS card. You may have progressed from a trade background but ideally will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Site Management, preferably on the NHBC Site Manager Accreditation programme.
You will have extensive experience managing residential projects such as apartments, Retirement Living, Extra-Care Homes, or student accommodation. Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation is essential, and you must be a qualified First Aider at Work.
You’ll be assertive and calm under pressure to meet construction deadlines, liaising with external suppliers, specialists, and in-house teams to achieve objectives without compromising quality standards.
Influence and supervision skills are key to fostering cooperation. You’ll supervise onsite staff and maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
