Watson Construction build social and affordable housing across the Northwest, we think outside the blocks We are recruiting for a Site Manager for a new development in Green Street, Radcliffe. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you must be able to work and perform in a safe and conscientious manner, adapt ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the required specifications and quality standards. Duties for this role include: Comply with the responsibilities as laid down in the Companys Health and Safety Policy, with ultimate responsibility for all Health and Safety matters on a development site Accompany the HS&E inspector on their site inspections Ensure that sub-contractors or direct operatives do not undertake any works on site where there is not an approved set of RAMS in place (both on WHDMS and the same available on site for signature). Ensure works are immediately stopped where this occurs. Create an eight week programme and communicate to the Assistant Site Manager, sub-contractors and any internal direct operative trades Ensure that progress recording is up to date with progress and finishing schedules being created and updated at least weekly Monitor and inspect quality and site presentation to ensure the highest standards are being achieved and encourage continuous improvement. Undertake quality inspections using WHDMS for the works you are responsible for managing Ensure works completed comply with Sub Contractor Trade Specifications, Watson Contractor Proposals, the Employers Requirements (where the Contractor Proposals do not supersede). Manage sub-contractor quality performance providing feedback to sub-contractors during internal progress meetings. Motivate, support and guide the site team, recognising and identifying excellent performance. Ensure that sub-standard performance is identified and remedied quickly via training, support (improvement plans) or disciplinary action. Chair weekly sub-contractor progress meetings, ensuring accurate minutes are maintained and stored in accordance with Company procedures. Prepare an accurate electronic daily diary, ensuring labour numbers are accurately recorded together with detailed summaries of works completed. Prepare and submit development progress reports at frequencies set by Company procedures Ensure detailed and accurate weather records are maintained for the development in accordance with Company procedures. Ensure the project is delivered in compliance with the Site Manual, Purchasing Process and all other Company Policies and Procedures. The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience of managing others through good communication Experience within the construction industry is essential Flexible approach to dealing with issues and challenges Able to plan and organise effectively to meet tight timescales Manage time effectively in order to ensure that deadlines are met Literate in the use of IT SMSTS and First Aid certification Basic Scaffold Inspection certification is preferable Strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally are key to this role.
