Avondale Foods is a leading food manufacturing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses throughout the UK & Ireland. The Food Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products are manufactured safely, legally and to the required quality standards. This role oversees the sites food safety management system, quality management system, compliance with regulatory and customer requirements and continuous improvement of food safety culture. Hours of work; Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday 08:00-16:30 What you will do; Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation & Customer Standards. Lead quality investigations including complaints, non-conformances, and incidents. Support cross-functional teams in understanding and implementing food safety standards. Provide on-the-floor support to production teams to ensure compliance with GMP. Handle customer queries, technical documentation, and complaint investigations. What we need from you; Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, or related discipline. HACCP Level 3 Food Safety / Food Hygiene Level 4. Significant experience in food manufacturing technical/quality roles. Strong understanding of BRCGS, retailer COPs, HACCP and food safety legislation. Experience leading audits and managing a food safety/quality team. Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA management. Deep knowledge of microbiology, allergens, food processing, and GMP. Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving, decision-making, and high professional integrity.
