Downey Osborne is partnering with a growing and forward thinking organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to support their Finance team. This role will play a key part in managing daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting reporting and compliance requirements.

* About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who are organised, detail focused, and comfortable working within a busy finance function. The ideal candidate will have:
o Proven experience in a similar accounts or finance role
o Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
o Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
o Good understanding of core accounting principles
o Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
o Excellent organisation and time management skills
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
o Familiarity with UK financial regulations and compliance requirements
* About Your New Role
Always:
o Process and record financial transactions accurately, including invoices, payments, and expenses
o Verify and reconcile invoices and receipts against supporting documentation
o Maintain and update financial records using accounting software
o Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies
o Provide general administrative support to the finance function
Often:
o Assist with the preparation of management reports, budgets, and financial statements
o Support VAT returns and other tax related submissions
o Assist with payroll preparation, ensuring accurate recording of hours and deductions
o Support year end audit preparation and liaise with auditors
Occasionally:
o Contribute to financial analysis and reporting, providing insight into performance and trends

o Feel unsupported in your development
