A well-established membrane manufacturing company based in Norfolk is looking for a Sales Executive to join its Sales team.
The Company:
PIL Membranes design, manufacture and test unique polymer membranes for the clothing, electronic, military, and medical markets. They specialise in water vapour transmission products with a range of applications such as leather effect membranes for children's school shoes; technical and industrial clothing (including anti-static, viral barrier, fire- and chemical-retardant garments); and sports and leisure footwear and apparel.
The Role:
We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Executive to lead regional sales and drive business growth across assigned territories. This role combines technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong relationship-building skills to deliver tailored solutions that meet the different needs of a diverse customer base.
Competencies relevant for this role would include:
* Manage regional sales of PIL products across assigned territories.
* Proactively initiate, build, and strengthen commercial relationships with existing and new customers.
* Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to provide strategic insights and maintain market competitiveness.
* Research and analyse market and territory data to identify opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies.
* Develop understanding of tender contracts within the assigned territories.
* Deliver product and solution-based technical sales tailored to different customer requirements.
* Develop a knowledge of key market standards and testing requirements to support solution-driven selling.
* Deliver agreed regional sales targets and growth objectives.
* Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and proposals for management review.
* Undertake frequent travel and support exhibitions as required by the role.
Job specific skills and Competencies / Level of experience
* Open to recent science graduates seeking to develop a career in technical sales, candidates with 2–3 years' experience in technical sales, or individuals currently in technical roles looking to transition into sales.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
* Proactive approach to seek out and win new business opportunities.
* Resilient and adaptable attitude, able to perform in a challenging and competitive business environment.
* Capable of communicating technical concepts to customers.
* Competent in IT, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education and Qualifications
* Science degree or equivalent, or experience in technical sales or a technical/ product role within polymers, chemicals, textiles, or related industries.
* Fluent in English, additional languages not essential but would be desirable.
* Full, clean UK driving license.
