CLOSING DATE: 29th May 2026) Professional Requirements (ESSENTIAL) NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) Up-to-date NMC revalidation, mandatory training, and CPD Evidence of post-registration experience in: Recovery Clinical Competencies (ESSENTIAL) Airway management: OPA/NPA, LMA, basic airway manoeuvres Monitoring: ECG, SpO2, BP, ETCO2 Post-anaesthetic care: emergence, nausea/vomiting, pain control Analgesia management: IV opioids, multimodal analgesia Post-operative complications: hypotension, desaturation, bleeding Safe transfer criteria Anaphylaxis recognition and management ILS certification Governance & Safety (ESSENTIAL) WHO Surgical Safety Checklist awareness Incident reporting Infection prevention & control Documentation standards aligned with RQIA Understanding of Duty of Candour, GDPR, safeguarding Specimen handling (if recovery supports theatre flow) Personal Attributes (ESSENTIAL) Calm under pressure Strong communication with anaesthetists and theatre teams Ability to prioritise rapidly changing clinical needs Compassionate, patient-centred approach Desirable Criteria Post-Anaesthetic Care Course (PACC) Advanced airway skills (supraglottic devices, jaw thrust proficiency) Experience with: TIVA, sedation lists, endoscopy recovery Experience in private healthcare settings Audit participation or QI involvement Please note:An Access NI enhanced disclosure check (including information held by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)) will be required for this job role.
