About The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Facilities & Capital Projects, you will be the organisation’s professional lead for all aspects of operational estates by providing strategic direction and professional and technical leadership across clinical and non-clinical services. This is a highly influential position, shaping how NHS Golden Jubilee maintains safe, compliant, and futureproof environments across a complex and evolving estate.
You Will
Participate in the development of the Operational Estates Strategy for NHS Golden Jubilee and its alignment to the Board’s Clinical Strategy and Property Strategy. This will include active participation in the development of the ten-year estate development plan to improve service delivery to users and to improve building maintenance in an innovative and creative way.
Provide expert technical advice at both strategic and operational levels to ensure effective maintenance of all Board property and grounds so that they are fit for purpose in providing high quality services and conform to high standards of safety and amenity for the benefit of patients, staff, visitors and all other users of the facilities.
Develop and deliver prioritised action plans that support continuous improvement across Facilities & Capital Projects.
Will be responsible for ensuring national and statutory requirements and for maintaining all aspects of statutory compliance.
Update and ensure appropriate business continuity procedures are in place to deliver a safe and effective service at all times.
Work closely with internal teams, external regulators, and enforcing authorities to ensure we meet and exceed statutory duties.
The management of the Estates revenue budgets and establishing cost control and procurement procedures in accordance with standing financial instructions.
Play an influential role in new build and refurbishment projects by ensuring compliance is embedded from concept to completion.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
An appropriate accredited Bachelor’s degree at honours level.
A Chartered professional in an Engineering or Construction related discipline.
Experience in providing an estates service within large scale complex environments, preferably healthcare, including experience as Designated/Responsible person roles for specialist Healthcare maintenance services.
Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, and Scottish Health Technical Memoranda.
Problem solving capability where complexities often include conflicting demands, legislative requirements, health and safety considerations, contract obligations and technical issues.
Experience in supporting the implementation of estates strategy as part of an estates management team.
A skilled communicator, confident when dealing with senior colleagues, their own teams, a range of stakeholders and contractors.
The ability to represent and promote NHS Golden Jubilee at national and regional levels.
