A leading advanced composites and aerospace manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint a Deputy Quality Manager to support the continued development and improvement of the Quality function at their facility in Cambridgeshire. This role would suit an experienced Quality professional from the aerospace, automotive or advanced manufacturing sectors who is looking to step into a succession role with a clear pathway toward Quality Manager level responsibility. You’ll work closely with the existing Quality Manager, taking ownership of audits, compliance activities, team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives across a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities · Support the Quality Manager in maintaining compliance with AS9100, NADCAP and customer-specific quality standards · Assist with the management and continual improvement of the site Quality Management System (QMS) · Lead internal audits and support customer, accreditation and regulatory audits · Drive robust root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies · Oversee non-conformance management, concessions, rework activities and product quality investigations · Support first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspection activities and final inspection processes · Manage and develop a team of Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers · Support workforce planning, training and ongoing team development · Act as deputy for the Quality Manager during periods of absence · Support customer quality reviews, supplier audits and supplier performance management activities · Contribute toward continuous improvement projects focused on yield improvement, scrap reduction and process capability · Promote quality excellence and lean manufacturing initiatives across the production environment · Support process risk assessments and quality risk mitigation activities Requirements · Degree qualified in Engineering, Materials Science or similar technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience) · Previous experience within aerospace, defence, automotive or advanced manufacturing environments · Strong knowledge of AS9100 and regulated manufacturing quality systems · Experience leading or managing Quality teams · Background in internal auditing and audit preparation · Strong root cause investigation and corrective action experience · Confident communicator with the ability to influence across multiple departments Desirable Experience · NADCAP exposure · APQP / PPAP knowledge · SPC and PFMEA experience · Internal Auditor qualification Benefits Package · Annual bonus scheme · Private medical scheme contribution · Enhanced pension scheme with up to 13% employer contribution · Employee share purchase plan · 25 days holiday bank holidays · Subsidised onsite canteen · EV charging onsite · Employee Assistance Programme · Occupational Health support · Free onsite parking If you’re interested, apply within or reach out to me directly
