HR Administrator

NewCold Wakefield, England, United Kingdom

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑focused HR Administrator to join our team in Wakefield. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in HR and gain real exposure to recruitment, employee relations and HR operations. You will be the go‑to support for the HR team, keeping processes running smoothly and ensuring employees receive an efficient HR service.

Work Location: NewCold Wakefield, Headways, Stanley, WF3 4FE (fully onsite role).

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:30 - 16:30).

Salary: £26,000.00 to £28,000.00 (depending on experience).

What You'll Be Doing:

* Coordinating recruitment administration using Cornerstone and NewCold Academy, including right‑to‑work checks and new starter details.
* Posting vacancies, liaising with hiring managers and supporting onboarding tasks.
* Keeping HR, payroll and time and attendance systems accurate and up to date.
* Issuing invitation letters and providing note‑taking support at employee relations meetings.
* Being the first point of contact for HR queries and escalating appropriately.
* Managing employment and financial reference requests.
* Processing probation reviews, leaver administration and contractual changes.
* Coordinating HR communications using mail merge and internal systems.
* Ensuring all employee data and records meet GDPR requirements.
* Running weekly and monthly HR data reports.
* Monitoring the HR inbox and ensuring responses meet service levels.
* Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives such as Grocery Aid and Macmillan Coffee Morning.
* Updating internal communication channels with HR updates and employee information.
* Getting involved in wider HR projects and continuous improvement tasks.

What We're Looking For:

* CIPD Level 3 (qualified or above).
* 5 GCSEs grade A‑C or equivalent.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning HR systems.
* Able to manage confidential information with professionalism.
