Site Manager – Water Treatment (AMP8)

A leading UK principal contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its AMP8 framework team, delivering a major upgrade at Affinity Water’s Water Treatment Works in Egham.
The project includes construction of a new Rapid Gravity Treatment Plant, alongside upgrades to an operational clean water treatment site. This is a technically demanding, high-profile scheme within a live water environment — ideal for a Site Manager who thrives on complex delivery and real responsibility.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and under control commercially.
Key responsibilities:

Managing multiple work packages on a live water treatment site
*
Leading site teams and subcontractors to achieve safe, efficient delivery
*
Ensuring full compliance with H&S, CDM 2015, and quality standards
*
Planning, monitoring, and reporting on programme, progress, and costs
*
Coordinating civils and M&E activities across the site
*
Managing RAMS, permits, site briefings, and audits
*
Liaising with the client, designers, and commercial teams
*
Driving value engineering and practical problem-solving
*
Maintaining strict quality and technical standards
*
Developing and leading site teams through effective delegation and PDRs
This is a hands-on role suited to a Site Manager who takes ownership and sets standards.
About You
You’re a delivery-focused Site Manager with experience in water, utilities, or complex infrastructure projects.
You’ll bring:

Proven experience managing large or complex work packages
*
Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC contracts
*
Confidence liaising with subcontractors, designers, and clients
*
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical data
*
Commercial awareness and attention to detail
*
Strong leadership and delegation skills
*
Calm, solutions-driven approach in a live operational environment
Qualifications & Certifications
*
HNC or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
*
SMSTS, CSCS, EUSR (1 & 2), TWC
*
First Aid & Fire Marshal
*
Experience of M&E works and the water industry
*
Proficient in Office 365 and CAD
