About the role:
This leadership role involves managing the site effectively through team leadership, motivation, and development, ensuring operations align with the company's core values and principles.
Participate in developing and implementing warehouse and ground operations strategies to ensure smooth movement and storage, meeting cost, quality, customer, and market-specific requirements in line with business strategy, corporate guidelines, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define warehouse and manual handling strategies aligned with business goals and policies.
* Develop and implement warehouse and manual handling plans, budgets, and measures.
* Ensure safety and security protocols are followed to operate, maintain, and store goods and equipment safely.
* Monitor site and personnel performance, including performance management processes.
* Provide financial forecasting for the site.
* Manage the monthly payroll report to ensure accurate salary payments and report anomalies.
* Review operational performance, data, and facilities to optimize distribution and transportation.
* Assess operating procedures, space utilization, and equipment protection, recommending improvements.
* Identify issues, opportunities, and introduce best practices to enhance efficiency, speed, and reduce costs.
* Build strong relationships with business leaders across DHL.
* Manage experienced professionals exercising independence in their roles.
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the site. Ideally, the candidate will hold a CPC qualification in transport and logistics and have evidence of:
* Previous managerial experience in a warehouse environment.
* Experience in the parcel industry is advantageous.
* Experience in budget control.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
