The Role: We are seeking a talented KDB Developer to join our technology team in Glasgow, working with our banking and capital markets customer. This role focuses on developing and optimizing high-performance, real-time data analytics platforms using KDB/Q to support the clients needs in areas such as risk management, transaction processing, trading analytics, and regulatory reporting. You will work closely with the banking and capital markets customer, traders, quants, and other developers to deliver tailored solutions for managing large-scale financial datasets. Responsibilities: ? Design, develop, and maintain KDB databases and applications to support real-time and historical data analytics for our banking and capital markets customer. Optimize time-series databases for high-frequency, low-latency environments to meet the clients performance requirements in banking and capital markets. Engage directly with our banking and capital markets customer to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and deliver systems for pricing, transaction analytics, trade execution, and compliance reporting. Ensure code quality through unit testing, documentation, and adherence to software development best practices. Provide technical expertise to enhance KDB infrastructure, handling data in the terabyte to petabyte range for the clients applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate KDB systems with other technologies (e.g., Python, Java, or C++) used by the banking and capital markets client. Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a KDB Developer, with strong proficiency in Q programming and KDB database management. Deep understanding of time-series data and experience working with large financial datasets in banking and capital markets contexts. Familiarity with banking and capital markets operations, including risk management, trade execution, transaction processing, or regulatory frameworks. Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and scripting. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong communication skills to interact with our banking and capital markets customer and translate their requirements into technical solutions.
