Mobile Unit Catering Manager – 25 hours per week
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's award‑winning school meals service is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Mobile Unit Catering Manager. This part‑time position (25 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, term time only) involves working across various schools in the Solihull borough and occasionally in Coventry, for 38.6 weeks per year at a salary of £15,363.45 per year.
Responsibilities
* Set and maintain a high standard of food presentation and service; ensure all food is served at the correct temperature, garnished and presented appropriately.
* Prepare and serve breakfasts, lunches, buffets and promotional menus following the centralised menu plan and Government nutritional/food‑based standards.
* Assist customers in selecting dishes and provide excellent customer service.
* Prepare or delegate preparation of dining areas for all types of catering requirements, including function catering.
* Compile and submit statistical documentation – e.g., trading sheets, payroll adjustment sheets, periodic stock control sheets – to the central administration office.
* Order, prepare and cook food in accordance with the Centralised menu plan.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Nominated NVQ Level 2 Award in Hospitality and Catering Principles and Level 2 Food Safety.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Approachable and able to respond to the diverse needs of customers.
* Flexible, adaptable and open to change; able to communicate using appropriate methods.
* DBS check required.
* Must be able to work independently and manage kitchen duties.
