This role involves general caretaking tasks across grounds, buildings, and security, overseeing the Apprentice Assistant Caretaker and ensuring health and safety compliance across the site. The caretaker will communicate regularly with the School Business Manager, who will act as the line manager.
Responsibilities
* Maintain grounds and building premises.
* Provide general security support.
* Supervise and support the Apprentice Assistant Caretaker.
* Implement and enforce health and safety procedures, including COSHH, Legionella, Asbestos, and safe manual handling.
* Coordinate with the School Business Manager for regular reporting and communication.
Qualifications
* Strong DIY and handyman skills.
* Demonstrated awareness of COSHH, Legionella, Asbestos, and safe manual handling practices.
* Knowledge or willingness to receive training in health and safety matters.
* Enthusiastic, reliable, and self‑motivated team player.
