Proof of Concept Developer (Databricks) – UK Based
We’re looking for a Proof of Concept Developer to help turn innovative data ideas into tangible, high‑impact solutions. You’ll play a key role in rapidly prototyping data products using modern technologies, helping the business validate concepts and unlock value quickly. You’ll be embedded within a cross‑functional data squad, working alongside Data Engineers, Data Modellers, and Business Analysts to design and deliver scalable, production‑ready concepts.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop Proof of Concept data products using Databricks and related technologies.
* Translate business requirements into technical prototypes in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Build, test, and iterate data pipelines, notebooks, and models within Databricks.
* Present findings, prototypes, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Document processes, decisions, and outcomes for knowledge sharing.
* Ensure all development follows best practices, governance, and security standards.
* Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and bring new ideas into the team.
Technical Key Skills & Experience
* Strong hands‑on experience with Databricks and cloud platforms (ideally Azure).
* Proven experience developing data products, pipelines, and prototypes in enterprise environments.
* Expertise in data preparation, transformation, and integration from multiple sources.
* Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
* Experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
Soft Skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to clearly present complex technical concepts.
* Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
* Comfortable working both independently and within agile teams.
Nice to Have
* Experience in financial services, insurance, or healthcare sectors.
Location: UK – preference for candidates near Tunbridge Wells, Royal Tunbridge Wells, England, United Kingdom.
Duration: 3–6 months contract.
Start date: ASAP. Day rate: £400. IR35 Status: Outside IR35.
