Overview
HC-One is looking for a Cook with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll be organized, meet deadlines, present food attractively, and follow recipes precisely. When communicating with a Resident or co-worker, you’ll be considerate and kind.
As a Cook at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist Care homes. By joining HC-One you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to our Residents.
You will cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You’ll provide outstanding support to the First Chef, taking charge in their absence. You may manage food stock, optimise budget use, coach a colleague, or supervise kitchen clean-up, always keeping Resident wellbeing in mind.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of potential abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should seek appropriate advice and report concerns, escalating if action is not taken.
