In order to facilitate home grown talent, the Commercial Team (which delivers for the company sales, marketing, product management and customer-focus), is looking to support the following activities through this role:
* Duties would span the full spectrum of sales, marketing, product management and customer-focused activities that the team undertakes on a daily basis including global travel, extended working hours and additional tasks as the role dictates.
* Working initially in a supportive capacity to the Commercial Team using the company’s Client Relationship Management software through to assisting in the writing of equipment tenders and updating the required documentation in support of important and high value purchase opportunities.
* Support will be available from day one to take ownership of meaningful customer interactions and business initiatives, with room to focus on key areas of interest and ability.
* Every facet of ZX shall be explored including practical, technical, analytical and commercial interactions with colleagues and customers.
* Further formal and on-the-job training shall be provided as part of the early years support in this role. Courses shall reflect the requirements of working within the business and commercial team and will be delivered by both internal team members and external bodies.

Purpose of Role
To develop within the company’s Commercial Team, selling and marketing ZX Lidars’ products and services to a global audience.
Undertake activities including lead generation, opportunity qualification and sales progression within defined geographies and market segments. Champion and change user behaviour towards the positive, successful use of wind Lidar, ultimately supporting the growth of the global wind industry.
Main Tasks & Activities
* Understand, capture and communicate customer requirements.
* Identify, qualify, bid, negotiate, and close direct customer sales of ZX Lidars product family and associated services including those of ZX Measurement Services.
* Progress suspects and prospects to create opportunities for sales. Progress sales opportunities to close and despatch.
* Achieve the agreed individual annual sales revenue target maximising gross profit on an individual sale basis.
* Working as part of the Commercial team, assist in the achievement of combined annual sales team targets.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, associations and the broader ZX market. Attend customer and partner visits, industry events and workshops, globally as appropriate for the representation of the company and its products.
* Maintain a working knowledge of technical subject matters, effectively summarising and communicating key information to both internal and external audiences.
* Research and investigate competitive opportunities responding to Request for Quotations, bids and tenders.
* Support the creation and execution of successful sales plans including: a deep understanding of the market and target audiences, clarification on business / commercial directives; a sales strategy to address the directives; clear KPIs to be achieved; identification of sales campaigns; execution and management of spend / resource required.
Database administration
In support of sales and marketing activities:
* Enter and update all customer information in the company’s Customer Relationship Management system or other as required.
* Ensure all information is up-to-date, relevant and maintained. Performance will be tracked through this system so it is essential that these records are live and accurate.
Other duties
* The post-holder will be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected. All members of staff are expected to be professional, co-operative and flexible within the needs of the post, the department and the Company.
* Duties of the post could vary from time to time as a result of new legislation, changes in technology or policy. In this event, appropriate training will be provided.
Personal Profile
Education & Qualifications
* Essential: A Level or equivalent and a demonstrated aptitude and passion for a chosen subject area, irrespective of qualifications.
* Desirable: An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area, or equivalent.
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
* Essential: N/A, just a true willingness to self-drive your learning. Be comfortable and confident in asking questions, no matter what they are, in order to better educate and learn. Take responsibility for your own learning.
* Desirable: An interest in renewable energy. An understanding of the Climate Change crisis.
* Any work experience that could be considered as relevant.
Office Skills
* Fully competent – even ‘a whizz’ - in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
* Internal and external communication is essential across a variety of formats as well as formal, informal and relationship building.
* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent collaborative skills working across multiple teams within a college, university or work setting.
* A true ‘People Person’; friendly, good listener, empathic, good at remembering the detail, great at building lasting meaningful relationships and be emotionally intelligent.
Any Additional Requirements
* Located close to or within reasonable commuting distance of ZX HQ (WR13 6BD) and be willing to travel and work additional hours when needed.
