At Strive Academy, we do things differently.
We offer an alternative educational experience that blends hands-on vocational learning with a supportive and inclusive environment. We now have two sites, in Stalybridge and central Manchester, and we're looking for a proactive and committed Site Manager to join our team and help us maintain safe, inspiring spaces for our pupils and staff.
If you're someone who takes pride in creating well-run, welcoming environments and wants to be part of a team that's making a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
What's the role?
As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our academy premises. Working across both sites, you'll ensure our buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained, supporting the smooth running of the academy and contributing to a positive learning environment.
What will I be doing?
* Acting as the main keyholder and overseeing site security, including alarms, gates, and emergency access.
* Managing heating, lighting, and cleaning across the sites
* Carrying out minor repairs and coordinating contractors for larger works.
* Conducting regular health and safety checks and maintaining compliance logs (fire safety, asbestos, etc.).
* Supervising cleaning staff and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
* Supporting grounds maintenance including gritting, gardening, and general upkeep.
* Handling deliveries, porterage, and furniture arrangements.
* Liaising with the Head of Centre and SLT on site-related planning, budgets, and improvements.
* Supporting the academy's safeguarding and child protection policies and helping our teams to work safely in our environment.
What are you looking for?
We're looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in site or facilities management, ideally within an educational setting.
* Skilled in basic maintenance and repairs, with a hands-on approach.
* Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
* Organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
* A great communicator who can work well with staff, contractors, and external stakeholders.
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Why Strive Academy?
* Be part of a growing, values-led organisation that puts pupils first.
* Work in a supportive environment where your contribution is valued.
* Enjoy a varied role with real impact on the day-to-day running of the academy.
* Help shape the future of our sites.
