The Out of Hours Site Manager within Liverpool Women’s will give the successful candidate the opportunity to be responsible for the overall running of the hospital out of hours as the first point of escalation to maintain safe staffing levels, support patient flow and uphold safety and quality of care across the Trust.
Applicants with acute care experience are encouraged. You will bring strong communication and relational skills, building close links with operational managers and service users in a complex, high‑pressure environment with competing priorities.

Job Responsibilities
 * Support proactive coordination of bed capacity in partnership with on‑site clinical managers and on‑call managers, escalating capacity issues and breaches in line with the Escalation Framework.
 * Monitor emergency targets, review staffing and acuity levels across divisions, reallocating staff to achieve targets and ensure smooth patient flow.
 * Analyse daytime staff reports on staffing and acuity, providing independent clinical opinion to inform care decisions.
 * Act as first point of call for emergency incidents, ensuring escalation protocols for fire, flood, switchboard loss, etc., are invoked immediately.
 * Ensure all babies are properly tagged and respond to baby tagging alarms during the shift.
 * Respond to medical emergencies, crash calls, security incidents, absconding patients and safeguarding issues.
 * Liaise with ward staff and the on‑call Estates team to determine urgency for site attendance.
 * Report environmental concerns to Estates & Facilities regarding cleanliness and upkeep.
Qualifications & Learning
 * Master’s degree level qualification or relevant experience.

 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across multidisciplinary teams.
 * Strong negotiation and presentation abilities to senior managers.
 * Demonstrated resource management and change‑management skills.
 * In‑depth understanding of patient flow, RTT and ED targets.
 * Effective organisational and leadership capabilities under pressure.
Experience & Knowledge
 * Management experience at ward level with a demonstrated ability to lead a team.
 * Clinical knowledge of bed management, patient flow and IPC (infection prevention and control) practices.
 * Proficiency in audit programmes and quality improvement initiatives.
Professional Development
 * Commitment to continuous learning, coaching and supervision.
 * Ability to facilitate audit and quality improvement projects.
