Site Quality Manager (SQM)

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Site Quality Manager (SQM) based in the field at the project location. The role requires relocation to the new project site upon completion and reports functionally to the Quality & CI Manager for Site Quality and operationally to the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities

* Review contractual and local requirements applicable to site quality, including lessons learnt from previous projects and relevant project plans (SQP, SMP).
* Evaluate Contractor Quality Plans to ensure alignment with the Project Quality Plans and customer requirements; identify and follow up risks and mitigations.
* Set up and educate site personnel in the quality management system, including the completion system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and PG requirements.
* Provide quality induction training, execute and follow up on the Quality Plans, master test plan, and completion system status for site activities.
* Review quality documentation for correctness and completeness (test certificates, checklists, etc.), ensuring that quality control plans (ITP, ITR) and erection documentation from HVDC are communicated to the site management team and contractors.
* Implement and continuously monitor quality control processes; oversee inspection/testing during Civil, Mechanical & Electrical erection and commissioning.
* Organize and supervise acceptance testing and approvals by customers, third parties and governmental authorities; deploy and train users on the completion system, deviation, NCR, CCRP, and other quality tools.
* Maintain testing and measurement equipment lists and calibration certificates; monitor the completion system status, punch list, and outstanding works.
* Provide quality‑related KPIs to stakeholders; coordinate, follow‑up, and lead site inspections and support punch‑out item management.
* Inspect incoming goods, report deviations, and ensure handling, storage, and delivery compliance with manufacturer guidelines and the SQP.
* Ensure ITP/ITR compliance by subcontractors, manage hold points and witness points, and generate, distribute, update, and archive site quality documentation.
* Deploy and participate in the Site Quality audit program, including contractor audits and external audits; implement corrective actions as necessary.
* Follow up on governance of the quality management system, identify lessons learned, and contribute to the ToE process.

Required Background

* Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or quality management education.
* 5+ years of construction quality site experience or operations in the power or energy industry.
* Track record in change management, managing internal projects/programs in a large and complex organization.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, Level 6S Belt, and proficiency in MS Office suite.
* Ability to travel frequently.
