Our client, a growing engineering business just outside of Plymouth, is looking for aQuality Managerto take full ownership of quality across a busy Service Centre. With significant expansion in aerospace and defence, this role is key to maintaining standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term customer relationships.

Why this role as a Quality Manager matters
AsQuality Manager, youll be the sites subject matter expert and trusted authority on quality. Youll ensure the business remains compliant, audit-ready, and operating to the highest standards, while having the autonomy to challenge processes, drive improvements, and support continued growth.
Key responsibilities as a Quality Manager
* Take ownership of all quality activities across the site
* Lead quality processes in line with company policies and industry standards
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100/AS9120
* Lead internal and external audits, including customer audits
* Investigate and resolve quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
* Maintain full batch traceability, QA documentation, and material certification
* Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement
* Carry out shop floor and warehouse checks as required
* Work closely with senior leadership and group compliance
What were looking for from a Quality Manager
* Proven experience as aQuality Manageror Senior Quality Engineer
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100/AS9120
* Background in engineering, manufacturing, or regulated environments
* Experience with root cause analysis, process mapping, material certification, and audits
* Hands-on, proactive, and able to challenge and improve processes
Preferred:
* Aerospace or safety-critical materials experience
* Relevant qualification in Quality Management or similar
