Overview of Role
To ensure the quality and safety of products and processes through the application of the quality systems and activities to meet the technical and site objectives. To coordinate all day-to-day quality and hygiene activity on site. The role will provide leadership, development and continuous improvement activity, ensuring increasing product quality and standards to our customers and consumers competitively.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintain a close working relationship with Production & Engineering teams and other relevant departments to successfully drive quality and safety forward
* Support the management and development for HACCP/ TACCP
* Develop and maintain Site Food Safety, Legality & Quality Management System to ensure food safety and conformance to appropriate legislation
* Update the CoA database & testing requirements database
* Management of sampling for external laboratories
* Rejection of non‑conforming products and root cause analysis
* Complaint investigation
* Management of non‑conformances on site
* Calibration / verification of equipment as per the schedule (internal & external)
* Complete internal audits, and support audit management / schedule (BRC/ Customer Audits etc.)
* Review and update hygiene management systems/equipment risk assessment on regular basis
The Right Person
You’ll have strong knowledge of food safety, quality standards, HACCP, and BRC, along with certifications in Food Hygiene and HACCP. You’ll be confident in junior supervision, team leadership, and training others. Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, databases) are essential. You’ll work closely with other departments as Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Procurement and Customer Services. A Degree/HND in Food Science and at least 2 years’ experience in food production is desired.
