Job Opportunity: UK HR Manager Location: Aberdeen (with regular travel to Peterhead, Great Yarmouth, and Teesside) Reporting to: Group Head of People & Culture Line Reports: HR Operations Team Lead & Training Lead About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on UK HR Manager to lead their HR function across the UK. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of HR operations while supporting the implementation of Group strategy. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, driving a positive employee experience, managing organisational change, and ensuring compliance with UK employment law and HR best practices. This is a highly operational role, requiring strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Employee Relations Lead and oversee day-to-day HR operations, including disciplinary and grievance processes, absence and performance management, flexible working requests, maternity/paternity, and related matters. Support organisational reviews, redundancy processes, and TUPE transfers, ensuring timely, compliant, and business-focused outcomes. Provide proactive HR Business Partner support to UK Business Unit Managers, ensuring open communication and early identification of key matters. Guide the business and HR team in unionised consultation and negotiation processes, including pay reviews and collective agreements. Act as focal point with the recognised Trade Union and represent the business under the Energy Services Agreement. Compliance & Policy Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant, practical, and aligned with best practice. Maintain oversight of legislative requirements and communicate effectively with HR teams and business leaders. Manage employee records, HR reporting, and departmental compliance with training and competency requirements. Strategic HR & Projects Coordinate HR support for business expansion into new geographical areas of the UK. Act as HR lead for commercial bids and tenders. Contribute to strategic HR initiatives including Graduate & Apprentice recruitment and Employee Satisfaction Surveys. Drive continuous improvement across HR service delivery. Recruitment & Talent Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes in line with company standards. Support succession planning, workforce development, and training initiatives. About You Essential Qualifications & Experience CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience). Extensive HR advisory/management experience within a complex environment. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Experience in employee relations, including union engagement and negotiations. Proven ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with senior leaders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. High standards of confidentiality, accountability, and integrity. Desirable Previous experience in an HR management role. Project management experience.
