Job Purpose
As a key member of the Campsie site management team, the Quality Manager is responsible for driving Total quality management and ensuring customer quality standards are met at all times. The role will play an integral part in liaising with the other members of the Operations Management team to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction while achieving high quality standards in a lean environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
7. Lead the site Total Quality Management
8. Be responsible for site ISO9001 standard & accreditation
9. As part of the senior management team, develop and implement the quality management strategy in line with business standards
10. Participate in senior management reviews, directly influencing the business plan and key performance indicators
11. Lead a team of quality engineers and quality inspectors to deliver products in line with customer expectations
12. Actively drive continuous improvement through problem solving and preventative countermeasures.
13. Trend and report out on quality performance of operational areas highlighting areas for improvement
14. Lead supplier quality assessments and improvement initiatives
15. Be responsible for production test & inspection activities and resources
16. Ensure the communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues is maintained across all departments
17. Review warranty information and lead change within operations to reduce warranty and increase customer satisfaction
18. Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards
19. Actively support New Product Development activities
20. Manage department performance against agreed targets through appraisal and review
21. Work with sourcing to qualify new suppliers and manage PPAP process. Lead supplier quality assessments and improvement initiatives
22. As part of the senior management team, support 5S and health and safety across operations.
Experience & Qualifications:
23. Extensive experience & knowledge of Quality Management Systems
24. Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent in engineering
25. Experience of manufacturing environments
26. Proven track record of people management
27. Able to demonstrate leadership in both strategic and quality management in a global manufacturing organization
28. Ability to govern progress to a detailed level and interpret system reports and Key Performance Indicators
29. Ability to work with suppliers to improve overall levels of quality
