Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with offices across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit an HR Assistant for a contract until 20th November 2026 on a salary between £31,619 - £36,561/annum.
Support the maintenance and updating of the establishment plan and employee records on HR Agresso and administering the range of employee events to ensure clear audit trail and record of change and events and timely administration of pay affecting changes
- Support attendance management by monitoring absence triggers ensuring managers are aware of their roles and responsibilities in addressing attendance issues
- Support the maintenance of a up to date Job Description and Job Evaluation database through secretariat to the Job Evaluation panels, ensuring appropriate version control and Job Evaluation records and panel decisions are maintained and with a clear audit trail of evaluation decisions.
- Provide support for recruitment campaigns this can be from coordinating assessment centres to participation in selection activities such as interviews or group exercises
- Provide support for induction events ensuring content is up to date and relevant for attendees

- Work with HR Assistant colleagues to ensure consistency in service delivery and our approach to coaching, guiding and advising managers across the organisation in interpreting HR Policies people management and development of good practice through interpretation of HR Policies in line with business principles
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR service offer through raising ideas for improvement and participation in projects / working groups
Clear evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Experience of interpreting and applying knowledge of employment legislation, regulations and HR policies
- Good attention to detail for data integrity and employee contractual administration
- Good analytical skills to identify data trends including the quality of data
- Effective coaching skills
- Knowledge of HR policies, processes and employment legislation
- Good IT skills - in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Good appreciation for confidentiality and discretion within environment of sensitive personal data and information.
- Solution focussed to solve diverse problems whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality
- Experience of handling recruitment, pension, and contract related queries
- Previous experience of successfully delivering HR projects
- Experience of reviewing and developing policies and procedures
