You will have excellent research and communication skills, can think both creatively and commercially and will thrive in a fast-paced role in an award-winning, growing unit at the BBC.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
BBC StoryWorks makes award-winning series for BBC.com audiences outside the UK, using BBC's storytelling heritage to tackle the issues shaping society by giving a voice to organisations leading change. We create original commercial content for global brands that tells stories from organisations and brands to BBC.com audiences and beyond, delivering formidable results. Programme Partnerships launched in 2019 and has grown quickly to a team of ~75.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Research & Insight Development: Conduct in-depth research into industries and emerging issues, integrating expert interviews and roundtable insights to map market dynamics and audience interests.
Editorial Strategy & Creative Direction: Shape the narrative and creative structure of each series, producing storyboards, reports, and presentations in collaboration with production, compliance, and marketing teams.
Audience & Market Analysis: Analyse BBC.com audience data and run original research to inform content themes and ensure alignment with user interests and behaviours.
Partnership Development & Outreach: Identify, qualify, and engage prospective partners, crafting compelling story briefings and managing outreach to meet commercial and creative objectives.
Strategic Growth & Team Collaboration: Contribute to new vertical development, cross-team strategy, and project oversight while supporting production and fostering collaboration across BBC teams.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Experience working in branded content, research, or business development, with strong commercial and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and simplifying complex topics.
Strong editorial instinct and creative vision, with a passion for storytelling and shaping content that resonates with global audiences.
Self-motivated and KPI-driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to improving processes and achieving results.
A team player who thrives in multidisciplinary environments, balancing independent work with cross-functional collaboration.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Entrepreneurial attitude: interested and able to challenge assumptions about how the team works, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions
Able to think commercially and critically, making shrewd assessments as to the motivation and capacity of prospective partners
Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, and proven ability to engage with new software
Data analysis or insights experience
If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we'd love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
