Learning Mentor - Secondary

Responsibilities
* Delivering tailored one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to students, focusing on their specific needs and goals.
* Supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning, including emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
* Collaborating with teaching staff and parents/guardians to create individualised support plans and monitor progress.
* Providing guidance and advice on study skills, time management, and exam preparation.
* Organising and facilitating workshops and extracurricular activities to enhance students\' personal development.
* Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters respect, resilience, and self-confidence.
* Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, progress, and achievements.
* Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students when necessary.
Qualifications And Skills
* A bachelor\'s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
* Previous experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
* Strong organisational abilities to manage individual caseloads and maintain accurate records.
* Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to support students from diverse backgrounds.
* Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
