Overview
HR Manager - Part-Time, Maternity Cover. Location: South Manchester (Hybrid). Contract: 6-month FTC (strong possibility of extension). Hours: 21 hours per week (3 days – flexible working available). Salary: Pro rata of £28,000 (£50,000 FTE).
We’re proud to be partnering with a respected, award-winning charity that truly puts people first, to recruit a part-time HR Manager to cover an initial 6-month maternity period on a part-time basis, with a strong chance of extension. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is an opportunity to lead a small, efficient HR team of four and play a key role in maintaining a positive, values-driven workplace culture. Responsibilities
* Leading and supporting a small, established HR team to deliver an efficient, people-focused service.
* Managing a varied ER caseload, providing clear and pragmatic advice on performance, absence and conduct.
* Advising on safeguarding matters and maintaining compliance with legislation and policy.
* Supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development and retention.
* Partnering with leaders on people projects including data collection, reporting and analysis.
* Overseeing the use of BrightHR, ensuring accurate data and meaningful insights.
* Promoting engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
About You
You'll be an experienced HR generalist or business partner with a collaborative, supportive approach and the confidence to influence at all levels. You'll balance empathy with professionalism, guiding managers through people matters while helping shape a positive workplace culture.
You'll bring
* Strong HR generalist experience, ideally within a charity, public sector or similar environment.
* Proven ability to manage ER cases and support safeguarding processes.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience using HR systems and analysing data to drive improvement.
* CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience).
