Role Summary
The Head Teacher, children and governors of Heasandford Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our highly-skilled Inclusion team. This role involves supporting children with barriers to learning, delivering one-to-one mentoring sessions and liaising with external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver direct one-to-one mentoring sessions focused on building pupils’ resilience, self-esteem and social skills.
* Work with primary-aged children, including pupils with additional needs (SEND/SEMH/EAL).
* Liaise with external agencies and support Early Help processes in Lancashire.
Qualifications
* Essential: NVQ Level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent).
* Desirable: Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of delivering direct one-to-one mentoring sessions focused on building pupils’ resilience, self-esteem and social skills.
* Desirable: Experience of liaising with external agencies.
* Desirable: Experience of Early Help processes in Lancashire.
Salary and Hours
Grade 6 (£28,142 – £32,061). Position is 30 hours per week, term time only; salary quoted is full time equivalent and will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
Employment Conditions
The position is a permanent role and subject to a probationary period before confirmation. All new employees are required to complete a probationary period before their statutory employment rights are fully applied.
