Site Manager
Location: Burton office / site-based, covering Derby, Ilkeston, Nottingham, Leicester and surrounding areas. The role requires working Monday‑Friday, 39 hours per week.
Overview
As Site Manager for Novus, you will lead a skilled professional trade team in a secure environment with long‑term contracts. You’ll manage social housing re‑roofing and planned refurbishment projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards, with zero defects and strict health & safety compliance.
Responsibilities
* Manage site teams, work activities and resources to meet contract requirements.
* Lead the selection and formation of site personnel teams, including sub‑contractors.
* Collate all pre‑construction information (asbestos surveys, packs, etc.).
* Ensure all contract documentation and reports are accurate and produced on time with the Contracts Manager.
* Identify site hazards and enforce risk assessments and control methods during the construction phase.
* Guarantee compliance with all legal, statutory, health, safety and welfare requirements.
* Assist in preparing estimates, bids and tenders with the Contracts Manager.
* Create, manage and report on projects with multiple live sites using a master programme.
* Oversee the smooth operation of multiple assigned sites to achieve zero‑defect, quality outcomes.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in planned refurbishment works within social housing/tenanted properties.
* Knowledge of internal or external refurbishment processes; roof work experience is a plus but not essential.
* Proven ability to deliver projects to completion/handover while managing several sites simultaneously.
* Commercial awareness to ensure costs meet budget requirements.
* Full UK driving licence.
* SMSTS licence or equivalent NVQ, plus First Aid at work.
* Confidence with IT and proficiency in MS Office.
* DBS check required.
