The Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Mid-Level Developer to join our team. You will be instrumental in building, maintaining, and optimising our cutting-edge, data-heavy web applications. This role requires a strong focus on modern front-end development, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and performance.
Core Technical Skills & Experience
Front-End Development
* Strong proficiency in modern React development (v18+) and TypeScript.
* Solid foundation in core web fundamentals, including vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), semantic HTML5, and modern CSS.
* Comfortable using standard React Hooks to manage component logic.
* Experience building and maintaining modular, reusable UI components.
* Experience working with data-heavy applications and managing complex state (e.g. Redux).
* Experience integrating front-end applications with external and internal REST APIs.
Tools & Methodology
* Proficiency with the Node.js runtime and NPM ecosystem for dependency management.
* Experience with front-end build tools (e.g. Vite or Webpack).
* Strong proficiency in Git version control.
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment, using Jira for task management and participating in sprint planning and standups.
Quality, performance & accessibility
* Commitment to maintaining high code quality, standards, and documentation.
* Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across the entire stack.
* Experience of implementing unit, functional, and automated testing strategies.
* Understanding of common front-end performance optimization techniques (e.g. code-splitting, lazy loading).
* Awareness of web accessibility (a11y) best practices, including WCAG AA standards.
Desirable skills
* Familiarity or experience with 3D rendering engines (e.g. Unreal or Unity) or interfacing with real-time 3D visualization services.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS. Experience with serverless functions, such as AWS Lambda, is highly beneficial.
* Experience using Storybook for developing, visualizing, and testing UI components.
* Familiarity with in CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g. styled-components) for creating themed and brand-aligned interfaces.
* Experience with modern JavaScript testing frameworks (e.g. Vitest, Playwright, or Jest).
* Experience with web application integrations, such as iframe-based architectures using the PostMessage API.
* Knowledge of internationalization (i18n) and localization (l18n) frameworks (e.g. FormatJS/react-intl).
* Practical experience with CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g. GitLab Pipelines or Jenkins).
