HSSE & Regulatory Compliance:

11. Serve as the project’s CDM Principal Designer, ensuring compliance with UK CDM 2015 regulations.
12. Oversee and verify JV regulatory duties related to design safety and health.
13. Lead by example in setting the HSE tone for both internal teams and external contractors.
14. Confirm that the role of Principal Designer is being performed by the JV team in line with regulations.
15. Coordinate with the CDM Compliance Analyst to evidence compliance with CDM requirements, in collaboration with the HSSE team.

Engineering Leadership:

16. Provide consistent functional leadership on technical matters across all engineering disciplines.
17. Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities across packages in collaboration with the EIS team.
18. Define engineering codes, standards, and processes, ensuring compliance and up to date maintenance.
19. Own and manage the overall system design, engineering integrity, and technical scope optimisation for value.
20. Lead technical assurance activities and validate adherence to technical specifications. Manage the HSE Design File and ensure Principal Designer duties are executed throughout the project lifecycle.
21. Oversee technical interface management across internal and external stakeholders.
22. Chair and manage the Technical Advisory Group for Shareholders/Lenders.
23. Set and maintain standards and requirements for discipline engineering across packages.
24. Provide expert judgement and oversight on deviation requests, technical queries, and non-conformance requests.
25. Support project delivery through clear technical input and guidance for decision making.
26. Develop and deliver engineering delivery plans to articulate how detailed design and follow-on engineering will support package delivery.
27. Conduct Technology Readiness Assessments and assure technology development plans.

Quality Management:

28. Own the QA/QC strategy, budget, and execution plan.
29. Review and approve deviations, concessions, and changes to quality requirements or technical specifications.
30. Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement across engineering deliverables.
31. Facilitate quality assurance processes in support of package delivery.

Project & People Leadership:

32. Set and monitor the functional execution plan, reporting progress to senior leadership.
33. Manage functional capability: define standards, test competence, and ensure team readiness.
34. Provide day-to-day direction to direct reports and functional guidance to indirect discipline engineers.
35. Identify key project risks and develop integrated mitigation strategies.
36. Promote staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development.
37. Coordinate across all discipline engineers and ensure consistent functional standards for Engineering and Quality.

Core:

38. A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in engineering.
39. A candidate who can excel in an intercultural and cross-functional environment.
40. Initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team are your strengths.
41. Engaging and effective presentation abilities.
42. Fluency in Business English. German is a plus.
43. You are very effective in stakeholder management and relationship building, due to your excellent communication and negotiation skills, persuasiveness, assertiveness.
44. Your ability and willingness to travel are crucial requirements for being a member of the team that operates across different locations including London, Edinburgh, and Hamburg.


Job specific requirements:

Execution-Phase Leadership in Large-Scale Projects:

45. At least 10 years in engineering management roles on major offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, or other large marine infrastructure projects.
46. Minimum 5 years in the execution phase (fabrication, transport & installation, commissioning), not just FEED or concept design.

Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Management:

47. Direct oversight of multiple engineering disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, marine) within a single project.
48. Proven track record in managing cross-package engineering interfaces (e.g., foundations-WTG- cables-substations).
49. Direct experiences in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organisation.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance under UK Law:

50. Demonstrated CDM (2015) Principal Designer role delivery on at least one major UK offshore wind or comparable infrastructure project.
51. Practical experience integrating safety into design and maintaining HSE Design Files.

Quality Management in Fabrication & Installation:

52. End-to-end QA/QC responsibility, including Management of concessions, deviations, and NCRs.

Contractor & Interface Management:

53. Hands-on experience managing EPC contractors or Tier 1 suppliers, including contract variations and technical scope changes.
54. Active involvement in technical risk reviews and mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement at Senior Level:

55. Experience interfacing with shareholders, lenders, and regulatory bodies in a technical leadership capacity.
56. Leading technical advisory boards or steering committees.

Key Competencies:

57. Strategic leadership and decisive problem-solving.
58. Exceptional stakeholder and interface management skills.
59. Ability to influence across JV, shareholder, and lender environments.
60. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
