Senior Front-end Developer
Byte9 is seeking an experienced front‑end JavaScript developer.
We are a leading agile web‑development company based in London, expanding our team to work on new projects, digital pivots, and innovative developments for our core Blaze product, now open source.
We specialise in feature‑rich web applications, headless content management with natural language processing tools, and bespoke client web and mobile application development. Our clients range from start‑ups to blue chips. We provide beautiful, innovative and performant systems that meet evolving stakeholder requirements using mature agile development processes and best‑practice tooling.
Your primary responsibilities include supporting design and development teams in producing front‑end code for sophisticated, performant and scalable projects. A keen eye for cutting‑edge design, interface development, performance management, tooling, usability and system ergonomics is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a pair/full stack application team.
Additionally, you will share experience, impart knowledge and mentor across the front‑end team, and collaborate across the organization to ensure best practice in product development.

Skills and Experience
* Software engineering best practice
* Over 4 years of commercial front‑end web development experience
* Excellent HTML, CSS, JavaScript skills
* Experience with JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, AngularJS, ExpressJS, etc.)
* Experience with NodeJS
* Redux or similar Flux‑like state‑management tools
* Experience writing performant GraphQL and REST based APIs
* Experience with NPM, Gulp, Webpack
* TDD experience
* Developing cross‑browser and cross‑platform compatible solutions
* Experience with Sass/BEM coding standards
* Good understanding of web accessibility and usability
* Experience with version control systems such as Git
* Experience with Bootstrap and mobile development
* Working examples of code/sites (GitHub portfolio, etc.)
Good To Have
* Knowledge of mobile environments, especially iOS and Android
* Social media skills, especially mainstream platform integration
* Experience with TypeScript
* Experience with AWS or Google Cloud infrastructure
* Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
* Experience with CI or testing tools
* Experience with CMS tools (WordPress, Magento, Drupal, etc.)
